Poems about Travel

Poems about Travel is about different choices of travel, our enjoyment of travel or not!
Going on a journey? Excitement or dread!

Do you want to stay in bed
Your journey later filling you with dread;
Panic attacks and scary feelings
Make you feel like you're on the ceiling.

Flying is for birds you say
I don't want to go -not today!
Scared of heights no matter what
My mom and dad don't give a jot.

Doctors tablets I will take
I'll have another piece of cake;
I'll wear a mask and earplugs too
So that I can go on holiday with you.

I wish we could go somewhere on a train
I'd never ever moan again;
I would have time to see
Things out the window with much glee.

Clouds look like cottonwool
Blue sky and sun shining nice and bright;
Up, up and away
I know we'll be alright.

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go.
 I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.

Against Travel

These days are best when one goes nowhere,
The house a reservoir of quiet change,
The creak of furniture, the window panes
Brushed by the half-rhymes of activities
That do not quite declare what thing it was
Gave rise to them outside. The colours, even,
Accord with the tenor of the day—yes, ‘grey’
You will hear reported of the weather,
But what a grey, in which the tinges hover,
About to catch, although they still hold back
The blaze that's in them should the sun appear,
And yet it does not. Then the window pane
With a tremor of glass acknowledges
The distant boom of a departing plane.

I'd travel through Infinity (Mom)

I have a little something, Mom,
I'd like for you to know.
I love you unconditionally,
from the bottom of my soul.

I love your perseverance,
I love your inner glow,
I love the way you care for me
and always let it show.

In just the way you look at me,
you tell me of my worth.
Your love has been a fuel for me
from the moment of my birth.

Whether in my life or out,
you've always been my queen,
And every time your near me,
your love for me is seen.

Our family is forever
and we're here to share the joy,
Mother, father daughters, son.
and me your little boy.

To help you through your perfect life
is something I will do.
across the vastness of the cosmos,
blind folded I'd find you.

So in this life, or in the next,
Don't fear to lose your way.
I'd travel through infinity Mother...

to brighten up your day. I have a little something, Mom,
I'd like for you to know.
I love you unconditionally,
from the bottom of my soul.

I love your perseverance,
I love your inner glow,
I love the way you care for me
and always let it show.

In just the way you look at me,
you tell me of my worth.
Your love has been a fuel for me
from the moment of my birth.

Whether in my life or out,
you've always been my queen,
And every time your near me,
your love for me is seen.

Our family is forever
and we're here to share the joy,
Mother, father daughters, son.
and me your little boy.

To help you through your perfect life
is something I will do.
across the vastness of the cosmos,
blind folded I'd find you.

So in this life, or in the next,
Don't fear to lose your way.
I'd travel through infinity Mother...

to brighten up your day.

No Lift to Work

I mean come on, I was already leaving after all
when I received that holographic call
to be told that I'd have no lift to work today.
Due to technical difficulties I'd need another way.
With sinking heart I realised the local shuttle service
was now the only way I would get to the office.
The predictable happened and I just had to wait
because they couldn't tell me by how much it was late.
So I had nothing to do except reflect on the frustration
caused by having to commute to an orbital station.

The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only a page.

To see how others live
Broadens your horizons;
It helps you to appreciate
Our blessings by the dozen.

Our landscapes and surroundings
Really does affect us all;
You wouldn't believe how some live
Or survive within buildings so tall.

Concrete jungles they are called
No blue sky or grasses green;
Dark and grey and also cold
No sunshine anywhere to be seen.

I should like to spend the whole of my life in travelling abroad, if I could anywhere borrow another life to spend afterwards at home.

A different kind of journey

It’s an exciting adventure
Traveling along the way
You can go right now, tomorrow
Or any other day
The vision ….. Beautiful
Of every kind
The sounds ….. Soothing
Is what you will find
The road goes in many directions
It matters not, the one you take
Just travel with an open heart
That’s the decision, you need to make

What do you think you will find
At the end of this trip?
Kindness, Advise
Understanding, Support …..
Destination, Friendship
I’m so happy this trip lead me to you!!
